May & June 2023 MICE Highlights

The 33rd AGM of MACEOS concluded successfully on 18^the May 2023 at The Vertical, Connexion Conference & Event Centre. The AGM saw a massive turnout of members to review the association’s activities and provide input on its direction.

The attendees also witnessed the MOU signing ceremony between MACEOS, Taylor’s University, and UITM. The MOU marks a step further in collaboration between industry and academia in developing a standardised event management education syllabus.

The Congress Certification Program organised by MACEOS was conducted recently at MITEC Kuala Lumpur, with 13 participants signing up for the program. The Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) delegation organised the Malaysian Pavilion at IMEX Frankfurt on 24th May, and was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Mohd Zamri Bin Mat Zain - Deputy Secretary General (Tourism) of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Farzamie Sarkawi, Consul General of Malaysia in Frankfurt, together with Noor Azlan Abu Bakar – Director of Convention and Exhibition, MyCEB.

The Net Zero Carbon Events Initiative by the Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC) invites all signatories of the Pledge to attend the upcoming Webinar on Reporting Templates, which will introduce the reporting template in a step-by-step manner, explain the data collection process, and address questions from the participants.
